Grant Summary and Timeline: The Sedgwick County Department of Corrections (SCDOC) plans, carries out and oversees Community Corrections Act programming in the 18th Judicial District. The grant period for SFY 20 runs July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. The Community Corrections Advisory Board approved the Comprehensive Plan at their March 28 meeting.

Budget Authority Adjustment: Request for additional budget authority for 2019 total $1,888,046: $320,141 in 33014-253, $968,179 in 33020-253 and $599,726 in 33015-253.
Personnel considerations: The planned personnel changes include unfunding 11 FTEs. 11 FTEs will be removed from 33020-253 and one office specialist position will be removed from 33014-253.
Expected measurable outcomes: In SFY20, to increase by 3% the successful completion rate of probation sentences as compared to SFY19.
Requirements from Sedgwick County: Quarterly Program and Fiscal Reports.
Alternatives: If we do not submit a plan for approval, we will not continue to receive these KDOC funds. We are obligated under state law K.S.A. 75-5291 to provide community corrections supervision to offenders assigned by the District Court.

Legal considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101 and K.S.A. 75-5292 et seq. Pursuant to the County’s grant policies and procedures, this grant application requires approval from the Board of County Commissioners. A simple majority vote is required.
