Title
A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE COMPOSITION OF THE SEDGWICK COUNTY ADVISORY BOARD FOR ON-SITE WATER WELL CONSTRUCTION
Presented by: Chris Labrum, Director of Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the resolution.

Body
The Sedgwick County Board for On-site Water Well Construction was established by Resolution 189-05 in 2005. Since that time, several of the positions have become obsolete based on changes to organizations and industry.
The Wichita Chapter of the Mortgage Brokers Association is no longer a viable organization, and the Wichita Area Association of Realtors has become the Realtors of South Central Kansas. While the real estate organization changed its name, it has continued to have a member on the board. The licensed geologist serving on the board in that position has retired, and there has been no further interest from that field to serve as an advisory board member.
In order to bring the advisory board to the full capacity of seven members, the resolution has been amended to include two new positions, a member at large who resides in Sedgwick County, and a plumber licensed within the Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department's jurisdiction. These positions will replace those previously designated as the member of the Wichita Chapter of the Mortgage Brokers Association and the licensed geologist.

It is staff's assessment and recommendation that the proposed board positions will create a well-balanced and qualified board to represent the industry as well as citizen and community needs.
