Recommended Action: Terminate the License Agreement.
Background: Sedgwick County owns 20 acres in the Southeast Quarter of Section 3, Township 26 South, Range 2 East. Paul and Cindy Matzek farmed this land for a sum of three hundred fifty dollars and no cents ($350.00) per year. Due to the selling of their adjacent land, the Matzeks wish to formally terminate the License Agreement.
Alternatives: N/A
Financial Considerations: Sedgwick County will not receive three hundred fifty dollars and no cents ($350.00) per year when a crop is harvested. The County will continue to pay approximately one hundred and sixty dollars ($160) for annual property tax (cost center 93003-110). Sufficient budget authority exists for the property tax costs.
Legal Considerations: The License Agreement may be terminated by written agreement of the Matzeks and Sedgwick County.
