Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to an Agreement with KDOT for Construction of the Derby-Mulvane Multi-Use Pathway (R-343) (District 5).

Recommended Action: Approve the supplemental agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The project will connect the Derby pathway system to the Mulvane pathway system by constructing a 10’ wide path along Rock Road. The project is included in the Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WAMPO) Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) for 80% federal funding in federal fiscal year 2019. The federal funding sources and year have changed and the supplemental agreement will update the finding information. This is a routine Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) supplemental project agreement.
Alternatives: Take such action as the Board deems appropriate.
Financial Considerations: The supplemental agreement will not change the amount of federal or local funding for the project. KDOT will contribute up to $840,233.00 in federal funds. The local partners (Sedgwick County, the City of Derby, and the City of Mulvane) will equally split the required local match of $210,059.00. Project costs exceeding $1,050,292.00 will be split equally by the local partners.
Legal Considerations: The County is authorized to enter into contracts with the Secretary of Transportation to participate in the benefits of federal aid funds under K.S.A. 68-402(b).
