Recommended Action: Approve the amendment and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The Sedgwick County Health Department WIC program has leased 2,850 square feet of space at Colvin Elementary School since 2006. This location provides WIC services for Sedgwick County. The current lease will expire on December 31, 2018 and USD 259 has provided 30 day notice to terminate a holdover year to year tenancy. USD 259 has plans for the space starting the 2019-2020 school year. USD 259 has offered to WIC a month-to-month lease until June 30, 2019 to allow time for the WIC program to find another location.
Alternatives: The BOCC could choose not to approve the Lease Amendment, in which case WIC would need to relocate staff and program at this location by January 1, 2019.
Financial Considerations: The lease rate remains the same at $6,569 for six months and no additional budget authority is being requested.
