Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
Sedgwick County has obtained federal funding through WAMPO to construct the pedestrian bridge. Local communities are required to provide 20% of the project funding. A portion of the project is within the corporate limits of Haysville and the City has agreed to reimburse the County for 20% of the local match. The agreement has been approved by the City of Haysville.
Alternatives: Take such action as the board deems appropriate.
Financial Considerations: The maximum reimbursement is expected to be $145,200. Actual reimbursements will be based on final project costs.
Legal Considerations: The BOCC is authorized to make all contracts in relation to the property and concerns of the county under K.S.A. 19-101 fourth; and to perform such duties as required by law concerning roads under K.S.A. 19-212 Ninth. Under K.S.A. 12-2908, the BoCC may enter into contracts with other cities or townships to perform any governmental service, activity or undertaking that each entity is authorized to perform.
