On October 24, 2018, Resolution 153-2018 was passed by the County which altered County Code Section 2-26. This action created some confusion and lack of clarity in how a meeting may be held and what constitutes a majority. The Board of County Commissioners wishes to clarify that binding action shall only be passed with a vote of the majority of members of the body, three.
Alternatives: Do not approve the resolution.

Legal Considerations: Pursuant to K.S.A. 19-101, et seq, the Sedgwick County Board of County Commissioners may exercise the powers of home rule to determine its local affairs and government.
