Title
Amendment to the Capital Improvement Program for Security Camera Upgrades and Standardization.

Body
Recommended Action: Approve the amendment to the Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

The project will upgrade existing, failing camera systems for several County facilities. Cameras will be upgraded from failing analog cameras with modern digital IP cameras, incorporate existing IP cameras into the new system, and add cameras to current blind spots to enhance safety and security observations. Current cameras are ten years to 20 years old. These older systems are obsolete or lack hardware support. The current camera systems in place are close to failing and have intermittent issues. Failure of the camera monitoring system will cause lack of any alerts to criminal activity as well as protecting the County from allegations of accidents and injuries.

This project of will include Genetec video servers, monitors, cameras, and video recorders at the following locations: Main Courthouse, Munger, Historic Courthouse, Public Safety, Ronald Reagan, and JRF. The Genetec video system is currently, and will continue to be, the standard for all County facilities that are not on a closed system. Genetec systems will allow for video sharing as needed between County and City.

Juvenile Courthouse is on a closed proprietary system. This project will include video servers, monitors, cameras, and video recorders and also include new cameras in the Juvenile DA area that do not currently exist as well as access control upgrades for the facility.
