ACCEPT THE BRIGGS MEMORIAL FUND DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,920.00 FOR THE SEDGWICK COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT 1 R&D FUND, AS WELL AS ACCEPTING PREVIOUS DONATIONS, ISSUING A LETTER OF APPRECIATION FOR THOSE DONATIONS, AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF ANY FUTURE DONATIONS TO THE MEMORIAL.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the acceptance of the donation; authorize the Chairman to sign a letter of appreciation and the establishment of budget authority as provided in the Financial Considerations section of this Request; and authorize acceptance of future donations to the Memorial.

Fire District 1 is the recipient of donations from the Briggs Memorial Fund. To date, the fund has received $1,920. The memorial fund will help to underwrite expenses associated with Sedgwick County Fire District 1.
Financial Considerations: The total amount of the donation, $1,920.00, will be deposited in cost center 14001-242. If approved, budget authority of an equal amount may be established in the fund center for the 2018 budget year. If any portion of the donation is unspent at the end of 2018, budget authority equaling the remaining amount may be established for the 2019 budget year.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-3601a.
Policy Considerations: Acknowledgement of donations to Sedgwick County Policy 1.103.
