Body
Recommended Action: Approve the Fiscal Year 2019 Older Americans Act Title III B and Title III E vendor contracts and authorize the Chairman to sign.
Background: Older Americans Act Title III B (OAA III B) in-home, and Title III E Respite services are provided by area home health agencies to residents age 60 and older that are in need of attendant care, homemaker, and respite services to allow them to remain in the community and in the home environment of their choice. These vendor contracts are a part of the Central Plains Area Agency on Aging's (CPAAA) FY 2019 Area Plan.
The Commission approved the Central Plains Area Agency on Aging's Area Plan for FY 2019 on July 11, 2018; these programs are outlined in the plan. This contract enables CPAAA to serve seniors in need of assistance to remain in the community and out of nursing facilities. The list of service providers is as follows:
A2Z Helping Hands
All Saint's Home Care
Associated Home Care
Diversified Family Services, dba: Loving Touch Home Health Care
Mercy Homecare
Miracle Home Care
Newton Healthcare Corp., dba: Newton Home Health
There’s No Place Like Home, Inc., dba: Right At Home
St. Raphael Nursing Services, Inc.
Alternatives: The Board of County Commissioners could decide not to approve the contracts and pursue another option for provision of federally funded in-home services.
Financial Considerations: The vendor contract will reimburse providers for completed Homemaker, Attendant Care, and Respite services.
Contractors agree to accept compensation at the following rates established by CPAAA for the OAA Title III B in-home services, and OAA Title III E respite services for FY 2019.
The rates are:
Homemaker Services: $16.00 per hour
Attendant Care Services: $17.00 per hour
Respite Services: $17.00 per hour
