Recommended Action: Approve the resolution and authorize the Chairman to sign.
On September 1, 2018, Sedgwick County Appraiser Mark Borchard retired. This resolution will appoint Charles Mark Clark as Interim County Appraiser for a period of up to six months pending the appointment of an eligible County Appraiser.
The term of this appointment is effective as of September 1, 2018 and shall expire upon the appointment of an eligible County Appraiser or March 1, 2019, whichever occurs first.

Legal Considerations: Pursuant to K.S.A 19-430 (a), the Board of County Comissioners may appoint an Interim County Appraiser, subject to the approval of the Kansas Department of Revenue’s Director of the Division of Property Valuation. David Harper, Director, has issued a letter approving Mr. Clark’s appointment. That letter is attached to the resolution.
