Agreement with Sedgwick County Extension Council to provide Educational Services and Lease of Premises.

Recommended Action: Approve the agreement.
The Sedgwick County Extension Council has a long history of collaborating with the County to manage and provide programming at the Sedgwick County Extension Center. This agreement allows that arrangement to continue and for the Extension Council to continue to provide a public facility to foster public interest, awareness and support for Extension’s Educational programs, and to facilitate and plan educational programs for the education of the public. This agreement continues the financial support from the County to the Extension Council at the same amount of $825,481 per year and now allows the Extension Council to retain revenue from the rental of the facility. In 2016, Extension building rental revenues to the County General Fund totaled $32,189; in 2017, the total was $30,924.
The term of this Agreement shall be for a period of three (3) years. The parties shall meet for periodic one year reviews of said Agreement in February of the years affected by this provision.

Financial Considerations: The County shall provide funding in the amount of $825,481 for the initial term of the agreement. This will be subject to annual review by the parties. This amount is included in the 2018 and 2019 adopted budgets. The Extension Building program within the Facilities Maintenance budget/forecast will be revised to reflect a reduction in revenue of approximately $31,000 per year.
