RESOLUTION AMENDING ARTICLE 3 OF THE WICHITA-SEDGWICK COUNTY UNIFIED BUILDING AND TRADE CODE WITH AMENDMENTS TO THE PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING CODE, 2015 EDITION, INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE, 2015 EDITION, AND THE INTERNATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE, 2015 EDITION.

In 2016 the Board of County Commissioners of Sedgwick County, Kansas, approved the adoption of dual plumbing codes, the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), 2015 Edition with amendments, and the International Plumbing Code (IPC), 2015 Edition with no local amendments for use in unincorporated Sedgwick County. This resolution will complete that process by adopting management criteria and local amendments for the 2015 IPC and the chapters of the 2015 International Residential and International Fuel Gas Codes designed to accompany and facilitate the IPC. It is expected this amendment will facilitate increased usage and better staff’s ability to manage the existing code.
