ACCEPTANCE OF HOMELAND SECURITY EQUIPMENT AND TRANSFER OF PROPERTY AGREEMENT.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the acceptance of the equipment, and authorize the Chairman to sign the transfer of property agreement.

The North Central Regional Planning Commission has awarded a rescue boat to Kansas Search and Rescue Task Force 5, which serves 19 counties in South Central Kansas. Sedgwick County Fire District 1 will house the boat and subsequently will need to assume ownership and liability for the boat. In addition to the ownership paperwork, Fire District 1 will also receive a Property Transfer Agreement that outlines the obligation to maintain the equipment, and in the event Fire District 1 no longer participates with Task Force 5, that Fire District 1 will return the boat.
Financial Considerations: The estimated value of the boat is $39,936.67. Repair and maintenance costs will come from Fire District 1 operational budget. No additional budget authority is requested.
