Recommended Action: Approve the lease agreement for a housing unit, approximately 2,188 square feet of furnished space, and access to community space at the Juvenile Detention Facility for use by Saint Francis Community Services, Inc. The proposed lease is in the amount of $352,403.33 annually with a two (2) year term.
Saint Francis Community Services, Inc. desires to lease space at the Juvenile Detention Facility for Secure Care housing of youth. The population at the Juvenile Detention Facility has resulted in available unused space. This lease agreement would provide county revenue for space that is currently unused.
Alternatives: Do not approve the lease agreement and there would be no revenue for the currently unused space.
Financial Considerations: This is a revenue-generating contract with anticipated annual revenue of $352,403.33 or $29,366.94 per month (two year term revenue $704,806.66).
Legal Considerations: This action is authorized by K.S.A. 19-212. A simple majority vote is required.
