Agreement between the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County for Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department (MABCD) for Staff Parking at the City Hall Complex.

Recommended Action: Approve the interlocal agreement between the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County.

 

The merger of Sedgwick County’s Code Enforcement Division and the City of Wichita’s Office of Central Inspection into the Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department (MABCD) under County administration included relocation of City of Wichita and Sedgwick County employees to 271 W. 3rd. Staff parking on site is limited, and the Director of MABCD sought a solution to provide adequate parking for both City and County MABCD staff.

 

Alternatives: Not approve the interlocal agreement.

 

Financial Considerations: Approval of this agreement will authorize the City of Wichita to invoice Sedgwick County for the leasing of 40 parking spaces, 35 in the City Hall parking garage at $20 per month, and five additional spaces on the surface lot at the City Hall Complex at $0 per month. Total is $700 per month or $8,400 per year. No additional budget authority is being requested for this agreement; sufficient budget authority exists in the 2018 MABCD budget.

 

Legal Considerations: The agreement has been approved as to form by the Assistant County Counselor.
