CONSIDERATION OF AN EXTERNAL FUNDING REQUEST FOR THE DERBY HISTORICAL MUSEUM.
Presented by: Brent Shelton, Economic Development & Tax System Director, Division of Finance.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Take action as the Commission deems appropriate.

Sedgwick County approved a $10,000 donation to the organization in 2013 for a similar window replacement project on another part of the facility.

Derby Kansas will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2019. The Historical Museum is one of seven sites being recognized during the celebration. They anticipate that an improved building image and this recognition will spur additional interest in the museum.

Should the County provide funding, recognition of this support would be in the form of a local news story, and the Historical Society will install a plaque that acknowledges the County contribution to the window project.

Alternatives: Deny the funding request.

Financial Considerations: The Historical Society requests one-...
