RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF $300,000 TO THE GREATER WICHITA PARTNERSHIP.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the resolution and authorize the Chairman to sign.

Background: Founded in 2015, this public-private partnership was created to align and focus economic development initiatives. The Greater Wichita Partnership is devoted to expanding the greater Wichita area's commercial and industrial base through aggressive business retention, expansion, recruitment activities, and marketing the nine county region of South Central Kansas as a fierce competitor in the global environment.
Alternatives: The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) could reject the resolution.
Financial Considerations: The $300,000 for the Greater Wichita Partnership would come out of the existing budgetary authority for economic development programming.
Legal Considerations: Approval of this Resolution is permitted under K.S.A. 19-101a. A simple majority vote is required.
