Recommended Action: Approve the lease and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The Sheriff's Office has leased space at 604 N. Main since March 2008 and most recently Suite E since 2013. The Sheriff's Office leases 845 sq. ft. at this location for the Professional Standards Unit. This lease will begin May 1, 2018 through April 30, 2020 with lease extensions available for up to two (2) consecutive one (1) year periods. The monthly rate for the two years remains at its current rent rate of $1,056.25, including parking and utilities. During the first extension of the lease term, monthly rent rate would be increased by 1.6% at $1,073.85.
Alternatives: The BOCC could choose not to approve this lease in which case the Sheriff's Office would need to relocate staff at the 604 N. Main Suite E location by April 30, 2018.
Financial Considerations: No additional budget authority is being requested, sufficient budget authority exists in the 2018 budget.
