Recommended Action: Re-establish budget authority of $14,220 in 92004-237 for the completion of the Sedgwick County Aerial Photography Project.
In 2017, Sedgwick County and the City of Wichita entered into a contractual agreement with The Atlantic Group, LLC for aerial photography services for Sedgwick County and the surrounding area. The project was to be completed in 2017 but due to spatial accuracy problems as well as a significant error in the vendor's processing software, the project was delayed. DITSS-GIS staff reached out to Finance when it was notified by the vendor that the aerials would not be delivered in 2017. Aerials are only undertaken every few years.
DITSS was given $73,000 in 2017 for this project, and spent $56,875.89. The request of $14,220 does not put the project over the original budget.
Alternatives: Without the budget funds, the aerials will be incomplete and only partially useable by Sedgwick County, City of Wichita, and the public.
Financial Considerations: Establish budget authority 92004-237 in the amount of $14,220 to complete the aerial project.
Legal Considerations: Bound by contract.
