CIP Amendment for the 2016 Cold Mix and Gravel Road Replacement Program (R342). All Districts.

Recommended Action: Approve the CIP Amendment.
Project R-342 (2016) included three projects that were bid in order to convert four miles of townships roads to county paved roads and pave a parking lot at the Extension Service Office. Three miles of roads and the Extension Office projects were completed in 2016 at a cost of $957,713.67. The third project involved a partnership with the City of Derby and Rockford Township. The third project was much more complex and involved extensive utility relocations. It could not be bid and constructed until 2017. Additional work was required to complete the project due to poor soil conditions. The final cost of the third project is $557,583.18. The total cost of all three projects was $1,515,296.86. The initial project budget was $1,500,000. The budget needs to be increased by $15,296.85 or approximately 1%.
Alternatives: Take such action as the Board deems appropriate.
Financial Considerations: Public Works recommends the transfer of $15,296.85 from cost center 21497-231 B475 to cost center 21511-231 R342.
Legal Considerations: The Board of County Commissioners is authorized to amend the Capital Improvement Program under K.S.A. 19-120. Approval is by simple majority vote.
