Title

Fourth Amendment to the lease agreement with Keith Bomholt.

Body

Recommended Action: Accept the amendment and authorize the Chairman to sign.

Background: In July 2017, COMCARE worked with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to transfer the Safety Net and Samaritan housing grants to the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas (MHA). Since this time, clients with housing needs have been slowly transferring to new case managers with MHA. HUD has completed the transfer and has provided MHA access to grant funds. The final part of this transition involves transferring the lease agreement between COMCARE/Sedgwick County and Keith Bomholt to MHA. Mr. Bomholt currently has sixteen apartments that are utilized by the Safety Net and Samaritan grants. Both MHA and Keith have agreed to maintain the current lease agreement until the end of the year.

This amendment will transfer the COMCARE lease agreements with Mr. Bomholt to MHA and release COMCARE from any responsibilities issued by the lease agreement. The amendment has been signed by Mr. Bomholt and MHA.

Alternatives: If this amendment is not accepted COMCARE will remain the responsible party in the lease agreement until the end of the year.

Financial Considerations:

Fund Centers: 310975-18 & 310965-17

Safety Net: $92,158

Samaritan: $57,928

Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101 and a simple majority vote is required.

Policy Considerations: All Sedgwick County policies have been followed in the development of this proposed staffing change.
