Title
Amendment to Developmental Disability Affiliation Agreement with Transition Adult Home.
Body
Recommended Action: Approve the amendment and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The developmental disability affiliation agreement with Transition Adult Home was approved by the County Commission October 4th. After the Commission approved the agreement, it was noticed that the authorized services list was incorrect. Transition Adult Home is only licensed to provide residential supports but the authorized services list included day and residential supports. The amendment eliminates the mistaken authorization for day supports. Transition Adult Home only provides residential supports.
Alternatives: Without this amendment, it is possible that Transition Adult Home could begin providing and billing for a service they are not licensed to provide.
Financial Considerations: Funding for services provided through this amendment are typically billed directly to Medicaid, unless an individual with state aid funding selects the agency for services. The state aid budget totals $1,043,410 in internal order 320096-18. No additional budget authority is being requested, sufficient budget authority exists in the 2017 and 2018 budgets.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 39-1805. The amendment requires BOCC approval under Charter Resolution No. 68. A simple majority is required.
Policy Considerations: The Sedgwick County Developmental Disability Organization is required by regulations to contract with qualified service providers. Division policy outlines the required affiliation process.
