Agreements with Arts Council, Inc. and Artistic Stone Work and Landscape for an Environmental Art Park at Sedgwick County Park.

Recommended Action: Approve the Agreements.
Arts Council, Inc. agrees to fund the full cost of the installation of the Art Park. The full cost will be determined mutually by the parties upon completion of the installation; however, in no event shall Arts Council pay the County more than fifty thousand dollars. The County agrees to use these funds to pay a contractor to install the Art Park.
Tobin Rupe, Artistic Stone Work and Landscape agrees to establish, plan, site, install, and construct the Art Park.
Alternatives: Do not approve the agreements.
Financial Considerations: Arts Council, Inc. will fully cover the cost.
Legal Considerations: The county is authorized pursuant to K.S.A. 19-101 et seq. to enter into agreements of this type. An insurance certificate evidencing coverage required by the agreement, Section VI, is required to be provided 10 days prior to the effective date of the agreement with artist Tobin Rupe. A simple majority vote is required.
