Agreement with Butler County and Harvey County to Contribute Matching Amount for the Senior Care Act (SCA) Program.

Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) is annually awarded funding from the Kansas Department on Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) for the Senior Care Act (SCA) In-Home Services program which serves seniors age 60 years and older residing in the CPAAA planning and service area which includes Butler, Harvey, and Sedgwick Counties. In the SCA agreement the State requires an established funding match of $66,827 from CPAAA. Sedgwick County serves as the administrator of the Central Plains Area Agency on Aging which serves Butler, Harvey and Sedgwick Counties. All counties agree to contribute to the match according to usage on an annual basis.
Financial Considerations: No additional budget authority is being requested, sufficient budget authority exists in the 2017 and 2018 budgets.
Agreement Period Starts: July 1, 2016
Agreement Period Ends: June 30, 2021

Legal Considerations: The County is authorized to enter into this agreement pursuant to K.S.A. 19-101 et seq. Approval is by simple majority vote.
