Recommended Action: Approve the Agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The purpose of this agreement is to allow Sedgwick County Office of the Medical Director to accept placement of social work students from WSU Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences School of Social Work for practicum clinical education. The Office of the Medical Director will provide workspace, computer access, and guidance to allow the student to accept clients from referrals placed by EMS, Wichita Fire Department, Sedgwick County Fire Department, and other emergency response entities. The student will utilize the practicum placement to meet requirements of their degree and gain experience practicing social work in the field.
This agreement outlines the responsibilities of both parties (WSU Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Sedgwick County Office of the Medical Director) concerning the placement of social work students for field practicums. Among other responsibilities provided by the Office of the Medical Director, workspace, computer access, and a client base will be provided. WSU will provide the student and liability insurance for the student, amongst other responsibilities outlined in the contract.
