Recommended Action: Approve the contract and authorize the Chairman to sign.
Design of this project is included in the approved 2017 Capital Improvement Program. The project budget was increased by CIP Amendment on July 19, 2017. Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc., has been selected to perform the design work at the cost of $98,428.
Alternatives: N/A
Financial Considerations: Sufficient sales tax funds exist in the project cost center to support this contract which is valued at $98,428.00.
Legal Considerations: The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is authorized to make all contracts in relation to the property and concerns of the County under K.S.A. 19-101 fourth; and to perform such duties as required by law concerning roads under K.S.A. 19-212 Ninth. This contract is similar in terms and conditions to prior contracts approved by the BOCC for this purpose.
Policy Considerations: The Purchasing Director has waived competitive bidding requirements as allowed for professional services under Section IV.G of Charter Resolution No. 68.
