Agreement with the Butler County Department on Aging (BCDoA) to provide case management services to Butler County Residents for the Senior Care Act Program (SCA) FY 2018.

Recommended Action: Approve the contracts and authorize the Chairman to sign.

 

The Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) will enter into a provider agreement with Butler County Department on Aging (BCDoA) to provide case management services to Butler County residents for the Senior Care Act (SCA) program. The agreement details how the agency will provide case management services to Butler County residents 60 years of age or older who have functional limitations which restrict their ability to carry out activities of daily living and impede their ability to live independently.  The SCA program was established by the Kansas Legislature to assist older Kansans live independently within the community with support services.  The SCA program provides assessment, case management, and coordination of in-home services to eligible participants. 

 

Alternatives:  Not approving this agreement would require CPAAA to provide case management services to SCA participants in Butler County.

 

Financial Considerations:

Contract period starts:  July 1, 2017

Contract period ends:   June 30, 2018

 

The program is funded through the Kansas Department on Aging and Disability Services (KDADS).  The Contractor agrees to accept compensation at the rate of $25.00 per unit for case management services as established by Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) for Senior Care Act Program.  A billable unit is fifteen (15) minutes of case management services.

Budget Authority Adjustment:  Sufficient budget authority is included in the 2017 budget and the 2018 proposed budget, no additional budget authority is being requested. 

 

Legal Considerations:  The County (through the CPAAA) has the authority to enter into this agreement pursuant to K.S.A. 19-101 et seq.  Approval is by simple majority vote.
