Changes to the Division of Corrections staffing table.

Recommended Action: Approve the changes to the Corrections staffing table as outlined below, July 21, 2017.
The Division of Corrections is requesting elimination of four part-time positions (20002606, 20002608, 20002609, 20002612) and returning funding to a current vacant unfunded full time position (20002596).
These changes are necessary as part of the IIP (Immediate Intervention Program) under SB 367. The new IIP requires scheduling and staffing changes to assume the program under JIAC which will now provide both the assessment and IIP functions 24/7.
Alternatives: Reject the request, which would hinder our ability to implement services as approved for the IIP program under SB 367.
Financial Considerations: These staffing table changes will result in $5,360 being returned to the general fund in 2017 and $8,600 in 2018. No additional budget authority is being requested.
Legal Considerations: This action is authorized by K.S.A. 19-101. A simple majority is required.
