Resolution to modify work exempt from a building permit for residential structures.

Recommended Action: Approve the resolution and authorize the Chairman to sign.
During its meeting on April 12, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved a motion to generally exempt buildings that are 400 square feet or less from the requirement to obtain a building permit under the residential code portion of the Wichita-Sedgwick County Unified Building and Trade Code. The motion also clarified that location permits would not be required to be obtained for buildings that would fall under the aforementioned exemption (with discussion held that the location permit matter could be brought before the BOCC in the future). Both the 400 square feet or less exemption and the location permit removal were specific to the Sedgwick County Jurisdiction and would not be applicable with the city limits of Wichita.
Alternatives: Modify the language of the resolution to conform with action taken on April 12, 2017.
