Resolution amending Chapter 14, Article II, Division 2, sec. 14-36 through sec. 14-43 of the Sedgwick County Code regarding the Wichita-Sedgwick County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Advisory Board.

Recommended Action: Adopt the Resolution.
Background: Chapter 14, article II, division 2, section 14-46 through 14-43 of the Sedgwick County code refer to the Wichita-Sedgwick County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Advisory Board, which was established pursuant to the resolution no. 122-1976.
It has come to the attention of the County that this board ceased to function sometime prior to 2005 and was replaced by the City of Wichita Special Liquor Tax Coalition which helps to provide funding recommendations for drug and alcohol abuse prevention and treatment programs. The Special Liquor Tax administration functions are currently contracted to COMCARE and the Coalition itself currently has sufficient representation from the County. The resolution would remove any reference to the Board within the County code.
Alternatives: The resolution is not adopted, which would maintain the County code as is currently written.
Financial Considerations: None.
Budget Authority Adjustment: No additional budget authority is being requested.
Legal Considerations: This advisory board is not required by statute. The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101 et seq. Approval is by simple majority vote.
