FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH SEDGWICK COUNTY ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY, INC.

On October 19, 2005, Sedgwick County and the Zoological Society entered into an Operating Agreement regarding the overall relationship between the parties and the roles and responsibilities of operating the Sedgwick County Zoo. In conjunction with that Operating Agreement, the parties have, over the years, executed various funding agreements. The parties now agree that a new funding agreement, which supersedes all other funding agreements, be entered into, defining the financial relationship between the parties in carrying out the Operating Agreement.
Alternatives: Do not approve the agreement and renegotiate the terms.
Financial Considerations: Funding agreement provides coverage of personnel costs of County employees plus 1/2 of yearly budgeted and approved CIP funds.
Legal Considerations: Authorization for this contract is pursuant to K.S.A. 19-101. A simple majority vote is required.
