Transitional Housing Services Agreement with Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas.

Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
Background: This contract outlines the terms and conditions for funding transitional housing services provided by the Mental Health Association (MHA) designed to assist adults with a severe and persistent mental illness.
COMCARE refers clients as appropriate to the housing programs. The contract includes 6 reserved short-term residential placements for COMCARE clients. These residential services assist COMCARE clients with community re-integration, diversion and discharge from state hospitals, and crisis resolution.
The contract remains the same dollar amount as last year with all of the funding going towards transitional housing. This year's contract does not include funding for the Chat Line program as it has in previous years. The total funding for this contract is $148,615.
Alternatives: Without this contract, clients would either lose access to these important services, or would be placed on waiting list to receive services.

Cost: $148,615.00
Funding Source: 310246-17 Adult Case Management, State Grant
Budget Authority Adjustment: Sufficient budget authority is included in the 2017 budget; no additional authority is being requested.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-4001, et seq. A simple majority vote is required.
Policy Considerations: All Sedgwick County policies have been followed in the development of this renewal agreement.
