Funding Agreement with Exploration Place, Inc.

Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The term of this Agreement shall be for one (1) year, commencing January 1, 2017, and ending December 31, 2017. This agreement represents a continuation of financial support for a cultural icon in the community. Exploration Place is one of many successful public/private partnerships designed to enhance the quality of life of those in the community.
This agreement also restores the reporting relationship of the President of Exploration Place to the County Manager or his designee.
Alternatives: Do not sign the Agreement and begin re-negotiations.
Financial Considerations: $2,220,140.00 for fiscal year 2017. This amount was approved as part of 2017 budget adoption in August 2016.
Legal Considerations: Approval of this agreement is found under K.S.A. 19-101a and requires a simple majority vote.
