Agreement with the Sedgwick County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) and the City of Park City to receive mutual aid animal control services through the Sedgwick County Animal Control (SCAC) program.

Background:
On October 5th, 2016, the BoCC approved a request for the Division of Health to establish and enter into new contracts developed with standardized language to provide three (3) different options for cities to select based on their level of need for animal control services and to formalize mutual aid agreements with 2nd and 3rd class cities located within Sedgwick County.
The new contracts provide three (3) different options for cities to receive animal control services: full service, limited service, or mutual aid. Both limited service and full service contracts include animal pick-up and mutual aid; only full service contracts provide additional enforcement and prosecution services. The mutual aid contract was established for the provision of mutual aid assistance only, for either the city or the county, in the event of an emergency situation involving animals.
Cities seeking to enter into full service agreements agree to be governed by Animal Control codes within Chapter 5, Sedgwick County Code. If a city elects to adopt its own codes, the full service agreement would be removed and the city would be eligible for a limited services agreement or a mutual aid agreement. The City of Park City has requested to enter into a mutual aid service agreement with Sedgwick County.
Alternatives: The Board of County Commissioners could elect not to enter into the agreements to provide services.

Revenue generated will be managed through fund center 41001-110.
