Recommended Action: Approve the requested changes to the staffing table.
Background: In order to meet inpatient service needs, COMCARE is proposing a change to the current staffing table. COMCARE is requesting to add a part time psychiatrist position. The part time psychiatrist will provide hospital-based psychiatric services at the Via Christi Regional Medical Center Good Shepherd Campus.
Alternatives: Without the addition of this position COMCARE will have to find another way to cover the inpatient service needs.
Financial Considerations:
Cost for part time position is $90,897
Fund Center: 310729-17
Budget Authority: Sufficient budget authority is included in the 2016 and 2017 adopted budgets, no additional budget authority is being requested.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101 and a simple majority vote is required.
Policy Considerations: All Sedgwick County policies have policies have been followed in the development of this proposed staffing change.
