Body
The jurisdiction covered by the Wichita-Sedgwick County Unified Building and Trade Code (UBTC), which includes unincorporated Sedgwick County, the City of Wichita, and other cities within Sedgwick County that contract with the County, currently has in place a plumbing code that adopts and modifies the 2012 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC).

Both the IPC and IRC are published by the International Code Council (ICC). Under the proposed dual plumbing code, the contractor or property owner would be able to select the applicable code (UPC or ICC codes) for the project at the time of pulling the permit. This resolution would become effective on November 1, 2016.

Alternatives: Do not approve the resolution.
