State Fiscal Year 2016 Kansas Department of Corrections Provider Contracts for the Juvenile Residential Facility and the Sedgwick County Youth Program.

Recommended Action: Approve the renewal contracts and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The Kansas Department of Corrections may enter into annual provider contracts with the Juvenile Residential Facility (JRF) and the Sedgwick County Youth Program (SCYP) to carry out responsibilities pursuant to the Kansas Juvenile Justice Code.
Alternatives: Provider contracts are required in order to serve juvenile justice youth in the State of Kansas and be compensated for those services.
Financial Considerations: Reimbursement funds are contained in 33017-110 (JRF) and 33024-253 (SCYP). The attached contracts contain provisions for pay rates for the individual programs. For JRF, the pay rate is $115 per day. For SCYP, the pay rate is $126 per day. The rate is unchanged from the previous contract.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101, et seq. A simple majority vote is required.
Policy Considerations: Provider contracts are required to continue receiving reimbursement for services provided at JRF and SCYP.
