Sedgwick County Community Corrections was awarded an allocation of $592,803.00 for the period beginning on July 1, 2016, and ending on June 30, 2017, for Behavioral Health Services. D.B.A. Higher Ground will receive a portion of this allocation to fund recovery specialists to assist with one-on-one mentoring, substance abuse evaluations and treatment and case management services to clients on intensive probation and in the residential setting.

The Sedgwick County Community Corrections Advisory Board approved the Kansas Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI) proposal and allocation of funds on April 14, 2016.
The BOCC approved this allocation on April 18, 2016.

Financial Considerations: For 2016, additional budget authority of $104,600 is requested and $204,200 is being requested for 2017 for 33072-253 / 330726-17.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101, et seq., and K.S.A. 75-5295. A simple majority vote is required.
