Presented by: Jeannette Livingston, Assistant Director Sedgwick County Developmental Disability Organization.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive and file.
Body
Project SEARCH is a business/organization-led collaboration that enables young adults with disabilities to gain and maintain employment through training and career exploration. The students participated in approximately three unpaid internships (usually lasting 10 weeks each) led by a USD 259 Instructor during the school year. The students were matched with a variety of County departments doing jobs such as: office assistant, answering phones, data entry, scanning, custodial, event set up, customer service, print shop, media conversion, mail room, and food services.
We'd like to recognize the six Sedgwick County Project SEARCH Interns upon their graduation from the program and thank them for their public service.
