Title

ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION FROM THE BEL AIRE TREE BOARD.

Presented by: Robert Timmons, Division Chief, Sedgwick County Fire District 1.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Accept the donation of a tree.

Body

The Bel Aire Tree Board would like to donate and plant a tree at Station 37 to honor the men and women of Sedgwick County Fire District #1.  They have asked to plant a Survivor Tree Sapling on the north side of the station.  The tree was grown from a seed from the Native American Elm that survived the blast at the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995, which took the lives of 168 men women and children.  The tree that this sapling came from is now well over 100 years old and is the best cared for tree in the country.  The City of Bel Aire would consider it an honor to donate and to plant this tree.   They have asked to plant it on Arbor Day, Friday April 29, 2016 at 10am.
