RECOMMENDED ACTION: Accept the donation of property and authorize the Chairman to sign the agreement and the memorandum of agreement.

 

Body

Alliston Resources Limited Partnership is proposing to donate a house to Sedgwick County Fire District #1 through a lease agreement. The purpose of the house will be to allow the Fire District to utilize it for training scenarios and to allow Fire District employees to use it for the purpose of a live fire training exercise. 

 

Financial Considerations: The property value of the residence is $95,245.00. The property owner is donating the property, with no compensation expected. The effective date of the donation of the residence from the owner to the Fire District shall be May 1, 2016.  Per the agreement, the Fire District does not accept any responsibility for any taxes on the residence and real Property.

 

Policy Considerations: The Board of County Commissioners as the governing body of Sedgwick County Fire District 1 has the authority to accept donations on behalf of the Fire District.
