Recommended Action: Approve the supplemental agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The original project agreement was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on April 15, 2015. The project has been bid and the contract has been awarded by KDOT for construction of Phase 1 of the Aviation Pathway. The supplemental agreement adjusts the total cost of the project as well as the funding split between KDOT and Sedgwick County based on the actual bid and updated estimates of construction engineering costs.
Alternatives:
Financial Considerations: The total project cost will be adjusted from $879,998.00 to $1,045,000.00. KDOT's share of the project cost increases from $703,999.00 to $836,000.00. Sedgwick County's share increases from $175,999.00 to $209,000.00. All other contract items remain unchanged. Sufficient funds are available in the budget for CIP Project R-330 (Cost Center 21536-231) to cover the increased local share.
Legal Considerations: The County is authorized to enter into contracts with the Secretary of Transportation to participate in the benefits of federal funds under K.S.A. 68-402b.
