Recommended Action: Approve the CIP amendment.
This project provides deck repairs, pier repairs and polymer overlays for the twin bridges on MacArthur that cross the Arkansas River. This is a 2016 project but bids were received for construction of the project on December 15, 2015 so that contracts could be completed and construction could begin in early 2016 before environmental restrictions would limit work in the river bed. The bid is below the engineer' estimate but exceed the budget authority. A CIP amendment is required to provide additional budget authority.
Alternatives: Postpone repair of the bridge.
Financial Considerations: Funds for the budget increase are available from project cost savings in other completed projects.
