Recommended Action: Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign.
In January 2015, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved a contract with Watkins & Schneider Consulting, LLC with two (2) one (1) year options to renew.
Last year, prior to Bid Board approval and BOCC approval, a committee comprised of Richard Ranzau and Dave Unruh - County Commissioners, Kristi Zukovich - Communications Director, Robert Parnacott - Assistant County Counselor, and Joe Thomas - Purchasing, evaluated all proposals submitted based on expertise, qualifications, approach to work, and cost. Watkins & Schneider Consulting, LLC provided the best proposal based on experience, understanding of community issues and partnerships and accessibility with offices in both Wichita and Topeka.
Alternatives: The Chairman could not sign the agreement and allow the current terms of the contract to expire.
Financial Considerations:
$4,000 per month
$48,000 per year
Includes personnel and expenses.
Legal Considerations: The BoCC is authorized to enter into contracts by K.S.A. 19-101 fourth.
