Title

Resolution providing for staff to sign documents as necessary to effect closing on certain real property located in Sedgwick County, Kansas.

Body

Recommended Action: Approve the Resolution and authorize the Chairman to sign and authorize the Division of Finance to do an interfund transfer from the EMS Fund to the CIP Fund as described in the Financial Considerations section to pay for the land.

On April 15, 2015, the Board of County Commissioners entered into an agreement to purchase land described as "The south 219.65' of Lot 35, Comotara Industrial Park Fourth Addition to Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, containing approximately 47,916 square feet" for the purposes of constructing in the future, an emergency medical services post.  Pursuant to closing on this purchase, this resolution authorizes staff to sign documents as necessary to effect and close the sale.

Alternatives:  The BOCC could choose not to approve this resolution, in which case another method of closing on the property would need to be authorized.

Financial Considerations:  Budgeted amount for land is $180,000.00.  This contract is for $179,685.00 and will be funded from 2015 approved CIP (project #176) fund center 12988-402.  Land is located in County Commission District #1. It is requested that the Commission authorize the interfund transfer of $179,685 from the EMS Fund to the CIP Fund to pay for the acquisition of the land.

Legal Considerations:  The County is authorized by K.S.A. 19-101 second to purchase and hold real and personal property for the use of the County.

Policy Considerations:  The sale of the property follows all applicable policies and procedures.
