Title
Professional Service Agreements (2) to Provide Inpatient Psychiatric Care for COMCARE Consumers.

Body
Recommended Action: Approve this agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.

Background: These professional service agreements provide coverage for COMCARE consumers receiving inpatient treatment at local hospitals. Dr. Shah, MD, is a local psychiatrist who provides inpatient psychiatric services to COMCARE consumers hospitalized at Via Christi St. Joseph and Via Christi Behavioral Health campus. Dr. Shah provides approximately 60 hours of service per month, and has contracted with COMCARE since 2007 to provide these services. Dr. Coyner, MD, is a local psychiatrist who also provides inpatient psychiatric services to COMCARE consumers hospitalized at the Via Christi Behavioral Health campus. Services include consultation, charting, diagnosing, and treating patients receiving inpatient care. Dr. Coyner provides services generally Monday through Friday, and has contracted with COMCARE since 2007 to provide these services.

These agreements are renewals and no significant changes were made, except to renew for another year.

Without this agreement, COMCARE would be required to identify another method to ensure patients receive these inpatient services.
