Letter Waiving Objections to Appointments by Sumner County to Board of Peck Improvement District.

Body

Recommended Action: Approve the letter and authorize the chairman to sign.

Peck Improvement District is an improvement district that includes properties in both Sedgwick and Sumner County. By interlocal agreement, Sumner County (which has the majority of the district area) handles administrative matters related to the district. Under L. 2015, Ch. 80, when a vacancy occurs in the district's board, the board of county commissioners of Sumner County may appoint a resident of Sedgwick or Sumner County to fill the vacancy until the next regularly scheduled election. The board of county commissioners of Sedgwick County then has 30 days to reject any appointments to the district board.

Sumner County has appointed Jon Bristor and the Honorable Thomas H. Graber (ret.) to the district's board to fill two open positions.

Alternatives:                      A) Approve the letter and authorize the chairman to sign.

                                                                                    B) Reject one or both appointments
