Title

Agreement to provide After Hours Mental Health Emergency Services for Compass Behavioral Health.

Body

Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.

Background: As a licensed community mental health center, Compass Behavioral Health must provide 24-hour mental health services for consumers in Grant, Morton and Stanton County. Compass Behavioral Health has contracted with COMCARE to provide some after-hours services. Services include professional inpatient pre-admission screening and after-hours emergency services Monday through Thursday 5:00pm-8:00am and 5:00pm Friday to 8:00am Monday. Current COMCARE staff will handle the delivery of these services.

Alternatives: If the agreement is not approved Compass Behavioral Health will have to contract elsewhere for after-hours services and COMCARE will lose the revenue earned by providing these services.

Financial Considerations:

Revenue: Compass Behavioral Health will pay COMCARE

$400.00 administrative fee per month

$35.00 per inpatient screen

$2.00 per minute of phone or face-to-face after-hours emergency services.

Funding Source: 310036-16

Term: 08/1/15 to 07/31/16

Budget Authority Adjustment: Sufficient budget authority is included in the 2015 budget, no additional budget authority is being requested.

Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101 and a simple majority vote is required.

Policy Considerations: All Sedgwick County policies were followed in the development of this agreement.
