PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE 2016 SEDGWICK COUNTY BUDGET

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Open the public hearing, receive public comment and close the public hearing.

This is the first public hearing to be held regarding the 2016 Sedgwick County budget recommended at $394,143,119, which includes a property tax levy of $129,580,173. The property tax levy is approximately equivalent to a property tax rate, expressed in mills, of 29.359 mills. The mill rate is based on the estimated assessed valuation and subject to review and technical adjustments.
The second scheduled budget hearing will be held on August 6, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room on the third floor of the Sedgwick County Courthouse. The budget is scheduled to be adopted on August 12.
